Nina Nyalowo, MSW, RSW (she/her) is a Registered Social Worker who practices from person-centred, anti-oppressive, anti-racist, strength-based, harm reduction, and trauma informed perspectives. She prides herself in being kind, empathetic, and genuine with clients.
Nina’s counselling approach is inspired by a combination of lived experience and formal education. Her integrative approach draws from Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT), Cognitive Behavioural Therapy (CBT), Motivational Interviewing, Compassionate Inquiry, Narrative therapy, and Solution-focused therapy, among others. From personal and professional experience, she has gained experience in working with issues related to gender and sexual diversity, stress, anxiety, depression, grief, anger, trauma, dementia, racial identity, race based trauma, spiritual identity, suicide ideation, and self-harm.
Nina is registered to provide services as a social worker in Saskatchewan and Nova Scotia. Her services as a Registered Social Worker are covered by most insurance providers.
